RuMac Gets the Crowd Boogying! His “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie” Accordion Audition ROCKS BGT!

Rudy McLan, who goes by RuMac [, a performer from the small fishing village of Olrig in the North of Inverness. When he steps onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage, he tells the judges that his act, which involves the accordion, is a hobby that “got out of hand” ], setting the stage for a unique performance.

The judges, particularly Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell, express immediate and vocal disdain for the instrument, with Alesha declaring, “I hate them, I hate them as well” . Simon adds that the accordion and bagpipes—which are from the same region—are “a marriage made in hell” , establishing a clear obstacle and low expectation for RuMac’s impending performance.

RuMac starts his rendition of Baccara’s classic hit, “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie” . He delivers the song in a surprisingly smooth and deep vocal style, initially playing the accordion in a standard manner. However, the performance soon takes an unexpected turn, transforming into a surreal, high-energy spectacle of music and movement.

The performance becomes a funky, bizarre, and highly entertaining dance routine. RuMac begins to passionately move around the stage, thrusting his hips and incorporating the accordion itself into the choreography as he belts out the disco anthem. The energy is infectious, compelling the entire audience and fellow judges to stand up, clap, and dance along.

Following the final, frantic, and musicalized cry of “I got music in there!” , the judges are left stunned. David Walliams is the first to comment, calling the performance “weird, funky” and noting that he didn’t know what he was watching but was “just entertained” . He points out the triumph that Alesha and Simon, who notoriously dislike the instrument, did not press their buzzers .

In the final vote, Simon Cowell—who was initially prejudiced against the accordion—admits that he has “never heard anything like this in my life,” describing the performance as “fantastically mad” . All of the judges, completely won over by the sheer fun and uniqueness of the act, vote “Yes,” sending the charismatic RuMac through to the next round of the competition .
